Bee-fore Your Appointment

Here are some expert tips to ensure that your visit runs smoothly.
Is your hair is long enough? Your hair must be at least 1/4" long - at least 4 weeks since your last wax or 3 weeks since you last shaved. Coming in too soon may leave you with some stubborn stubble.
Exfoliate: Gently exfoliating the skin with a scrub or exfoliating gloves prior to your service will provide an easier extraction of the hair follicles and ensure a honey smooth surface.
Reduce pain: Take an ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to your service to ease any pain. And or apply a topical numbing cream such as Lidocaine and Prilocaine (EMLA) 15 to 30 mins prior to your treatment.
Steer clear of stimulants: Avoid any caffeine and alcohol before your service. Stimulants in the system can cause the skin to be extra sensitive, and may cause skin to tear.
Avoid skin-sensitive medications: Do not wax if you are on any skin medications such as Accutane or Retin-A. The skin may tear due to the heat of the wax and the rapid cell turnover rate.
Waxing on your cycle: Is completely normal, Don't cancel if you get your period. There are wipes and tampons on site for this reason. If you’re comfortable being waxed at this time, so are we.
After Your Appointment
It's normal: You may experience some redness, swelling and sensitivity which usually subsides within 24 hours.
Let it breathe: Wear loose, comfortable clothing, which allows the skin to breathe and minimizes irritation.
Don't sweat it: Avoid any heat related activities such as hot baths, intercourse, steam rooms and tanning. Excessive sweat or heat may cause irritation to your freshly opened pores prolonging breakout and redness.
Keep it clean: Avoid applying heavy creams, fragrance, gels or oils containing any harsh chemicals that may irritate the skin. This will cause sensitivity and irritation due to the follicles being compromised.
